VIDEO: Adorable baby otter found orphaned, admitted to wildlife hospital

This precious otter pup, less than one month old, is one of the most recent admissions to the Conservancy’s von Arx Wildlife Hospital.

The otter pup was found in a Bonita Springs, curled up in the grass, far from water. Wildlife hospital rehabilitators are unsure how the baby was separated from its mother. Rehabilitators waited several hours hoping the baby’s mother would return.

Ultimately, when the mother did not return, the otter was brought to our wildlife hospital where she can get the care she needs. We are hopeful this sweet baby will be able to be released back into the wild.

Right now, our 2019 Annual Fund Drive is underway; we have a goal to raise $125,000. If we hit our goal, we have a generous donor who will give an additional $25,000. We need your help to ensure we can continue to protect our water, land, and wildlife — like this baby otter — in 2020 and beyond.

This work is possible because of generous supporters like you.

Thank you in advance for helping us do our lifesaving work at the von Arx Wildlife Hospital.
