“Magic Man” making a difference through Magic Under the Mangroves™
William Boyajian, owner of Port Royal Jewelers, believes that when you love something, it is your responsibility to protect it. A native of Naples, Boyajian’s time away from the area allowed him to see that Naples is the place he truly loves. This realization has inspired him to protect this beautiful place by educating people about the natural environment, and that is his goal as chair of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s Magic Under the Mangroves™ event. Following in the footsteps of many great leaders, Boyajian will serve as the first “Magic Man,” or male chair of the event.
“I am honored to serve as chair of the Magic Under the Mangroves™ event and to have the opportunity to raise awareness of the unique qualities of Southwest Florida, support the conservation and protection of natural resources, and uphold the quality of life within our community.” — William Boyajian
As a not-for-profit environmental protection organization, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida provides invaluable service to the Southwest Florida community by protecting the water, land and wildlife which make our region such a special place.
Magic Under the Mangroves™ is the Conservancy’s largest annual fundraiser, and the dollars raised from the event enable the Conservancy of Southwest Florida to engage in environmental research, to pursue policy initiatives, and to offer internships and educational programs including summer camp scholarships.

As a cause, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida is the perfect fit for Boyajian because of its mission to protect the quality of life and diverse environment in Naples for our next generation. Under the leadership of past chairpersons and Magic committee members, Magic Under the Mangroves™ has grown to become one of the top charitable events in Southwest Florida, raising more than $8.2 million dollars in support of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s mission to protect our region’s water, land and wildlife.
“I am passionate about the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s mission because I believe that it is our individual responsibility to take care of the world we live in,” Boyajian said. “I encourage those who have made the decision to live in Naples to ask themselves, ‘how can I help protect the natural environment that makes this place so wonderful — if I don’t protect it, who will?’”
The 2016 Magic Under the Mangroves gala will be Thursday, March 3, 2016.
The presenting sponsor is Northern Trust. Supporting sponsors include Gulfshore Life, Florida Weekly, Naples Daily News, NBC2 and AV media.
