Conservancy hosts Governor DeSantis for Water Quality Announcements
The Conservancy of Southwest Florida was pleased to host Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis today for special announcements to advance clean water efforts.
The announcement, made inside the Dalton Discovery Center, includes stricter fines and enforcement for environmental violators. Additionally, the Governor announced his intention to seek recurring record-levels of funding from the Florida legislature for Everglades restoration and water quality initiatives for the next three years.
We applaud the Governor for his ambitious agenda for addressing water quality problems in our State.
Because of supporters like you, we were able to welcome a diverse group of decision makers from a variety of sectors including government, higher education, community foundations, chambers of commerce, media and fellow conservationists here at our spectacular Nature Center. There’s still much to be done to face the challenges ahead but working with leaders across our state, I’m confident our focus on science-based solutions will lead to a better, cleaner environment for all Floridians.
Finally, I’d like to thank you. With your voice and your support we can continue our work collaboratively to advance our mission to protect Southwest Florida’s water, land, wildlife and future.
